ABO Energy wanted to articulate its role in Finland’s green transition and the significance of renewable energy. The result was a narrative that helps the company communicate its operations and the value of renewables in a way that resonates with decision-makers and local communities.
Client: ABO Energy
Date of Execution: 2025
What Was It About?
ABO Energy, a developer of renewable energy, aimed to strengthen its position as a trustworthy and transparent energy actor and to build confidence in the future potential of renewable energy.
The goal of the sustainability narrative was to express clearly and practically how ABO combines the promotion of the green transition, local acceptance, and economic viability, all grounded in how ABO genuinely operates. The need for this was timely, as media interest in wind power had declined and projects were facing more critical scrutiny.
What Did We Do?
We began by defining impact goals and jointly explored ABO’s current and future state of sustainability. In collaborative workshops, we redefined the role of renewable energy development for the economy, nature, and people in Finland and in the project localities, and we distilled how sustainable practices are concretely embedded in the company’s everyday operations.
We crafted the messaging into a cohesive narrative and key messages, and tested them with ABO’s staff to ensure they truly resonated with employees.
How Did It Go?
The core of the narrative was captured in the message “Sustainability is the foundation of our profitability: ABO Energy leads by example in building a clean energy system that respects nature and people”. The result is an honest and hopeful story that provides ABO Energy’s leadership and staff with concrete language and messages for stakeholder communications.
The narrative is used in presentations, on the website, and in conversations with local stakeholders. It serves as a strategic tool that supports long-term communication and dialogue.
“Working with Kaskas helped us clarify a story that is both tangible and hopeful. We gained the words to describe ABO’s work in a human-centered way – for both decision-makers and local residents. The end result reflects the values that matter to us: respect for people and nature, and a commitment to responsible practices.”
